Geological field trips in Virtual Reality
I am working on developing geological field trips in virtual reality for training or data acquisition, using images captured by drones. I believe this could deliver enriched analogues that let us see geology as never seen before, therefore increasing our understanding of the subsurface and our ability to find and develop oil fields. It could also provide an option for training in this challenging low oil price environment. The video below is a 3D digital model from a cliff in Dorset, England, created from images taken with a drone.
I would like to test these hypothesis with you, so I would be grateful if you could complete this short survey. It shouldn’t take more than 10 min.
